Congrats Katie and Levi!

Katie and Levi were wed at Oakhurst Baptist Church in Decatur, my home town. Though the couple currently lives in Portland, Oregon, they came back to their home town to get married. The wedding was almost completely held indoors, which was a blessing. The weather was typically 'Atlanta,' so hot you started to sweat within five minutes of stepping outside. So hot it made you curse under your breath. So I'm glad we were inside first the church and then the Trolley Barn for the reception.

I had the honor of running into my high school science teacher, Joe Winterscheidt and his wife. I was too busy to really sit down and talk to him, but it was nice to see him and his wife. It's funny how your past bumps into you at the strangest times. It's funny how you can just pick up where you left off and get along so well. I wish we had had more time to talk.

Anyway, I hope you liked the photos, which will soon by on Pictage (www.pictage.com/394154). G'Day!

Atlanta weddings in July. Let the sweating commence! Heat aside, Lena and I got some amazing shots at the Biedenharn/Zins wedding held last Saturday at the Houston Mill House. Tina was the perfect bride, so beautiful that I joked with her that I gave her a 15% discount because she was so stunning. We took scads of portraits of her and worked hard on them in Photoshop to give them the polish they deserve.

The wedding was fabulous, the people polite and respectful, and the bride and groom obviously deeply in love. I have come to really admire the staff at the Houston Mill House, too. They are exceedingly professional, helpful and always well-dressed. Kudos to Melissa, the house director, for her advice and help during the wedding.

Congrats to Joey and Tina! Check out their photos.

A week back Lena and I took a much-needed break from work and flew to Cape Cod, Massachusetts to say 'hello' to my father's side of the family. It was a great trip. We went on a whale watch, sat on the beach, sailed in the clear fresh-water lake next to my aunt's house and ate fresh lobster. The beaches were somewhat shocking to Lena, who comes from the clear, warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico. The ocean water at Cape Cod stays in the mid-fifties all summer long. The sand was warm, however, and the bay-side of the cape was more agreeable.

As you can imagine, we took a few photos.
